TANK COMBAT 120MM GUN CHIEFTAIN MK11
The youngest Chieftain MBT produced — DIS May 1973, one month newer than 11FD74. Final Merlin entry January 1999 to DIO/DTE Southwest with RIV code 999, which is the British Army administrative code for disposal and write-off. DTE Southwest operates live firing ranges including Lulworth, Castlemartin and others. Almost certainly used as a hard target on a range. This makes 11FD74 (DIS April 1973, confirmed surviving in British Columbia) the youngest surviving Chieftain MBT. Served with 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars (two tours) and 1st Royal Tank Regiment.
