Last Known Location Unknown
Last Merlin Record 01 Jan 2012

Notes

SP-series Special Projects vehicle, not in Merlin. SP prefix indicates registration outside the main fleet at MVEE/FVRDE/DERA Chertsey. Photographed 2012. Single centrally-mounted headlight configuration is consistent with a Khalid/Shir-derived export hull or FV4030-series trials vehicle rather than a standard British Army MBT. The single headlight arrangement was a feature of export variant hulls (Chieftain Mk5/3(C), Khalid). This is the same hull specification observed on 00FD89 (Mk5/3(C) export variant). SP plate 05SP50 suggests a later SP-series trials vehicle compared to the 03SP-prefix vehicles (03SP01/00FC51 and 03SP15/05FA97). Current location unknown. Possible survivor.
