TANK COMBAT 120MM GUN CHIEFTAIN MK11
Confirmed surviving in private ownership in the United States. Contract KL/A/0217 — same production batch as 03EB11. DIS May 1967. Mk11. Served two tours with 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars. Notable post-service history: loaned to GEC-Marconi Radar & Defence Systems twice in 1993 (RIV R00064 July-September, RIV R00140 December), as a second hull in the Marksman anti-aircraft trials programme — 03EB10 was the first vehicle into the programme in June 1993 (RIV R00015). The RIV 999 disposal entries dated February 1993 indicate the vehicle was administratively written off before being recalled for the trials work. After trials sold via Witham Specialist Vehicles MoD auction and subsequently exported to the United States. Photographed in storage in BATUS sand scheme with JAG tactical markings still visible. Also sighted at auction January 9 2012 in good condition, consistent with subsequent sale to US private owner.
