Confirmed sold at MoD auction 27 February 1996 (Lot 41, Store Ref 95MS74). Condition Grade One, S1 category (non-runner at time of sale). Generator engine missing. Sale price £3,700. Passed into private ownership at auction. Subsequently recorded by name as owned by J Hirst (tankmuseum.com Chieftain list, compiled from personal sightings and MoD disposal lists circa 1998-1999), confirming the vehicle remained in private hands after the auction. Current status unknown.
