Notes

Chieftain AVLB (Tank Bridgelayer), contract KL/A/0208 (Vickers Armstrong built, Elswick, Newcastle), entered service 1 July 1966. Extensive engineer unit service history including 77 ARMD ENGR SQN, 32 ENGR REGT, 26 ENGR REGT, and 22 ENGR REGT. Deployed operationally on Op OCULUS (Kosovo/Balkans) February-March 2001. Last Merlin movement to SEME, Bordon, January 2007 (RCP 999 — transferred to training use). Photographed on SEME training area at Bordon in deteriorated condition; Facebook comments confirm some SEME Chieftain variants were subsequently moved to Lyneham DSEME when SEME relocated from Bordon circa 2015-2017. Current location unconfirmed. No cast flag set in Merlin. Recorded as possible survivor pending confirmation of current whereabouts.
